Residential Building and Performance Technology Faculty
(Position No. 030806032)
Salary: $40,000-$46,000 based on education and experience. / 9 Months
A full-time teaching position in the Business and Technology Department. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Teach courses in the Residential Building program using a variety of delivery methods.
- Assists in the marketing of the Residential Building degrees to internal and external sources.
- Must be flexible regarding program demands, including teaching day, evening and online courses and serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.
- Participate enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advise student regarding educational goals and coursework; participates in professional development activities; assists in program goals setting, planning and implementation.
- Performs other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Air conditioning or a related field and have experience with residential energy efficiency, including blower door testing, duct blaster testing and use of Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater software.
- Applicants should possess a HERS rater certification or have the ability to pass the HERS exam within three months of employment.
- A minimum of one year of demonstrated teaching experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with individuals form diverse socio-economic backgrounds as well as various levels of college and district staff.
- Willingness to accommodate online, evening and non-traditional teaching schedules.
- Extra service and summer compensation possibilities in addition to 9 month contract. (Comprehensive benefits package)
