Director, Nursing⁄Allied Health Skills Lab
Director, Nursing⁄Allied Health Skills Lab (Position No. 050805029)
Salary: $46,108 / Min. Annual Salary
A full-time administrator in the Health & Legal Studies Department. Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for the simulation labs, including the development of special scenarios as required by various allied health and nursing programs. Develops scenarios using moulage.
  • Works directly with the general Director of Nursing and Allied Health Skills labs to coordinate usage of the simulation lab for teaching and testing, including skills check offs.
  • Directly responsible for set up of the simulation labs in the Center for Allied Health and Nursing (Paramount Building) as well as all distance sites and home host labs.
  • Validates skills competency.
  • Provides in-service for faculty for all simulation manikins.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Nursing or Allied Health, including the possession of  a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas and three years of current clinical experience or comparable credential in allied health.
  • Requires the ability to plan and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Maintains effective relationships with students and other co-workers to promote morale and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate effectively with individuals.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to support interaction with staff, students, faculty and administration of the college, as well individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Official transcripts and evidence of nursing or allied health license will be required.
