Audio Engineering⁄Recording Technology Faculty
Audio Engineering⁄Recording Technology Faculty (Position No. 030804015)
Salary: $40,000-$46,000 based on education and experience. / 9 Months
A full-time teaching position in the Liberal Arts Division. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Teach audio engineering and recording technology lecture and lab courses; maintains and troubleshoots the audio recording equipment; plans for expansion, repair and replacement of equipment; engineers new tracks featuring Cedar Valley College ensembles for Cedar Valley College website downloads or CD productions; serves on appropriate departmental, college and district committees; participates in recruitment and retention activities; advises students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to the department’s curriculum development efforts.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree minimum, plus two years of successful full-time staff engineering work experience in a recording studio.
  • One year of demonstrated teaching experience.

  • Coursework not specified on transcripts as discipline related requires accompanying course descriptions from the pertinent graduate catalog or letters from the department with descriptions of the course(s).
  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in a recording environment.
  • A strong background in both analog and digital recording practices, mastery of Pro Tools, thorough understanding of acoustics and some background in electro-acoustical practices.
  • Demonstration of excellent engineering skills on professional quality audio recordings.
  • Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work with a wide variety of students from diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Resume and a copy of transcripts are required at time of application.
  • Extra service and summer compensation possibilities in addition to 9 month contract. (Comprehensive benefits package)
