Borrower Rights in the Federal Family Educational Loan Program
  • You have the right to choose the lender from which you wish to borrow. DCCCD provides a list of lenders that participate in the Stafford Loan Program. This list is only given as a sample of available lenders. You do not have to use a lender from this list.

The list provided is a comprehensive list of all lenders that provided Stafford loans to DCCCD students within the past three years and that have indicated they will continue to make loans to DCCCD students. DCCCD makes no endorsement or recommendation regarding any lender on this list or otherwise identified.

  • The college cannot and will not assign a lender to a first-time borrower.

  • The college cannot and will not refuse the certification of a loan application on the basis of the student’s choice of lender or guarantee agency.

  • The college cannot and will not cause any unnecessary delays in the loan certification for borrowers using a lender that has not provided previous loans to DCCCD students.
