To enroll in Dual Credit courses, you must present a passing score on the ACT, SAT, ACCUPLACER or Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) in at least one area (reading, writing or math) as applicable to the course(s).
ACCUPLACER is available at all seven Dallas County Community Colleges, and THEA testing is available at all colleges but El Centro. Contact the Testing Center at the college you plan to attend for more information on scheduling a test.
If you choose to take the ACCUPLACER or THEA test, please note:
- You must take all parts of the test, even if you only need a passing score in one area to enroll in the course you want to take.
- You or your parent (if you are under 18) will need to complete and sign a Test Application form and a release form that allows us to give your scores to your high school. The application and release form are available from college Dual Credit coordinators.
