International Studies⁄Study Abroad Opportunities

One of the best ways to learn about another culture is to experience that culture first-hand. With that in mind, DCCCD is proud to offer a variety of international studies and study abroad programs to its students.

In most programs, no prior knowledge of a foreign language is required.

Who Can Enroll in DCCCD Study Abroad Courses?

If you’re enrolled at any of DCCCD’s seven colleges, you can participate in any study abroad opportunity offered by DCCCD — whether it’s offered by your home college or not.

Texas residents enrolled in colleges that are members of the North Texas Community College Consortium may enroll in DCCCD international courses by paying “in-district” (Dallas County) tuition. These colleges include:

• Brookhaven • Northeast Texas
• Cedar Valley • North Lake
• Cisco • Panola
• Collin County • Paris
• Eastfield • Richland
• El Centro • Tarrant County

• Navarro • University of North Texas
• North Central Texas

When Can I Study Abroad?

Semester-length programs are offered in both the fall and spring semesters.

Many DCCCD colleges also offer study abroad opportunities during the summer sessions. College faculty teach these courses, which normally last two to four weeks. There are also other non-semester-length courses offered during the year.
