To be eligible to apply for a student loan:

• You must have a completed Financial Aid file.
  
  
• You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards as set by DCCCD.
  
  
• You must be enrolled and certified in at least six hours (half time).
  
  
  
• Courses that start prior to and end after the standard term of enrollment are not eligible.
  
  
• Fall 2011 courses registered after Sept. 12, 2011, are not eligible.
  
  
• Spring 2012 courses registered after Jan. 31, 2012, are not eligible.



• You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
  
  
• You must not be in default of any federal or institutional student loan.
  
  
• You must not have any prior institutional balance or blocks.
  
  
• You must not be in an active bankruptcy status.
