Managing Your E-mails
1) Empty your in-box every day.
Emptying your in-box every day is the most important step you can take to manage your e-mail more effectively. Time management gurus encourage their students to handle a piece of paper as little as possible, preferably only once. The same goal applies to e-mail as well.

When you recieve an e-mail, take one of the following actions:

  • Delete.
  • Read and delete.
  • Read, take action, then delete.
  • Read and file for future reference.
  • Read, take action, then file.
  • File in a "Needs action" file.

2) Read your e-mail at specific times of the day.
Don't allow yourself to be interrupted by the arrival of a new e-mail.
