Abstract: This session will discuss Cedar Valley's college-wide approach to developing a revised mission statement, new vision statement and values compact that is connected to the strategic direction of the institution. Special emphasis will be placed on the strategy being used to implement the values compact in a manner that engages the entire college in a "Living Out the Values" campaign.

Abstract: Many Americans cannot obtain long-term care insurance as a result of either being unable to qualify medically or simply because the cost is prohibitive due to age and limited resources. This session will discuss other avenues to pay for the cost of care for those who: (1) do not have long-term care insurance or such insurance is inadequate or (2) are not independently wealthy enough to pay for such cost of care.

Title: Appreciative Inquiry: Building Cathedrals

Abstract: A man asked one bricklayer what he was doing and he said he was hard at work laying bricks. A man asked another bricklayer at the same site what he was doing and he replied, "building a cathedral". Teams that can envision and create exceptional outcomes and results are the joint focus of this workshop. Using the Appreciative Inquiry paradigm of Discover, Dream, Design and Destiny/Deliver, participants will learn an exciting organizational transformational process based on the simple premise that organizations grow and develop in the direction of their group focus.
