Abstract: The Fashion Squad, a group of fashion marketing students from El Centro College, will present an overview of spring 2007 trends and how to incorporate them into present wardrobes. Participants will leave this session with a guide and plan for fashionably updating their spring wardrobes.

Abstract: This presentation will highlight the importance of measuring student success as it pertains to the services and co-curricular activities within the Student Services Departments in the Colleges. An overview of the DCCCD Student Services Learning Outcomes Pilot Project will also be presented.
Title: Disaster Preparedness, from Duct Tape to a Keeping a Full Tank of Gas - How do we Stay Ready?

Abstract: Recent events including the Hurricane Katrina Disaster have raised our awareness that emergencies and disasters can impact us with little warning. Further, potential catastrophes resulting from bio-terrorism or a pandemic of Influenza have left many to wonder how we remain prepared in the face of so many different threats. The purpose of this presentation is to specifically look at the hazards from natural disasters, epidemics and bio-terrorism and help to determine sensible approaches to being better prepared. Also addressed will be what supplies one should have on hand at home and how to educate family members to be ready.

Hosted by Horace Allen of TeamPact, these strategies are currently being implemented at Cornell University with a 90% success rate.

Abstract: This session presents two new freshman English composition courses via distance learning developed at the LeCroy Center for Educational Telecommunications. Participants will view a lesson from one of the courses and participate in a Q & A to discuss classroom, iPOD and online usage.
Title: General Chemistry Software on a Single DVD-ROM.

Abstract: A new way to learn Chemistry, with no limits on time or place. This interactive, multimedia software covers a full year of traditional General Chemistry. More than 1000 hours of interactive material covering twenty-two chapters in a tutorial style is presented. Lecture demonstrations are incorporated in high resolution video/audio. Theoretical concepts, postulates and theoretical models are made more understandable via 3-D graphics. The fundamental concepts along with the rigors of math are taught and tested in a non- intimidating, self-assuring environment with an enormous number of step-by-step interactive problems. Is this the new format for textbooks in the future?

Abstract: Come join us as we share the rich 22 year history of the DCCCD Renewal Week. Renewal Week is administered by DCCCD staff. Years of success are attributed to personnel who have chosen to share their talent and/or special interest, by participating in chances to meet and bond with compatriots across the District and experiencing personal renewal. Come learn what’s in store for the 2007 plans in Gunnison, Colorado and choose to become a participant. Employees who have completed 3 years of continuous service by July14, 2007 are eligible.

Abstract: Systems Theory can be used to evaluate a person, a relationship or an organization. Joel Jessen, Ombudsman and Human Development Professor from Eastfield College will present materials and facilitate group activities that will allow participants to be more aware of the "Big Picture" of Systems Theory applications. This will be a one hour ethics credit for LPC and MFT Texas counseling certifications.
