Public and Governmental Affairs

The Office of Public and Governmental Affairs comprises the following departments:

  • Advertising and Promotions
  • Governmental Relations
  • Internet Publishing
  • Media Relations
  • Publications

Office staff includes five administrators and five professional support staff members. The office is responsible for a $3 million annual budget.

All areas within the Office of Public and Governmental Affairs serve in an advisory capacity for a variety of groups within DCCCD to counsel them on how to deliver messages to target audiences in the most effective way, how to work with the news media, how to use the Internet (and intranet, for employees) to deliver accurate and timely information, and how to work with governmental entities. All staff members work together as a team and frequently assist other units with special programs and events, news and other functions.
