Robert J. Young , 214-378-1703, is district legal counsel. The primary duties of district legal counsel include:

  • Representing the district in court and before local, state and federal administrative agencies
  • Responding by legal opinion to inquiries from the Board of Trustees and district and college personnel
  • Providing counsel on legal matters relating to legislative activities
  • Preparing and reviewing legal documents
  • Ensuring district policies and procedures conform to law
  • Managing the in-house legal team plus outside legal counsels

Marilyn Herridge, 214-378-1703, is an administrative/legal assistant who provides direct assistance to the legal counsel and acts as front-line office manager for the legal staff. Specific duties include managing Board Policy Manual updates with the district and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

Dave Hay
, 214-378-1701, is a legal assistant who spends a great part of the day writing and reviewing contracts, including dual credit, contract training agreements, interlocal agreements, interagency agreements and leases. During even-numbered years, he serves as election administrator for the Board of Trustees election.
