Regulatory Training Program

What is the Regulatory Training Program?

We have developed a Regulatory Training program to ensure that all training and recordkeeping is in compliance with Federal and State regulations. The learning activities offered through this program ensure that faculty, professional support staff, and administrators have the training needed to perform their jobs to prescribed standards.

The program includes, but is not limited to:

  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT)
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Risk Management
  • Gramm-Leach-Biley (GLB)
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standard
  • Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act  (FACTA) Disposal Rule
  • Texas Administrative Code (TAC).

Who should attend?

This program is open to all DCCCD employees. While all training will meet the mandates of the various regulatory requirements, some may only be required for staff members who have a specialized field or function. Other classes are designed based on districtwide requirements. Employees should identify specific training needs with the agreement of their supervisor.

What are the benefits for me?

Individuals participating in the program will gain information required to function in accordance with Federal and State regulatory agencies and within the policies and procedures set forth by the DCCCD Board of Trustees.

A Certificate of Attendance will be offered to participants who successfully complete all of the program requirements. This certificate, signed by the Vice Chancellor, is an internal DCCCD recognition of completion.

How do I register?

Sessions are open to full-time and part-time faculty, professional support staff, and administrators for whom the training is applicable to their specific job function or as justified. Contact us for registration information.

When are classes held?

Classes are held as needed to comply with specific regulations.

Who will do the training?

All Federal and State training that is mandated will utilize agency authorized/licensed facilitators in the specific topic area. Other training will be provided by authorized Human Resources, Facilities, Risk Management, or Student Services facilitators within the DCCCD.  All instructors are excellent facilitators with extensive experience in the subject area.

Program Objectives

The overall program objectives, identified in partnership with Risk Management, are:

  • Provide training that will allow employees to comply with all Federal and State Regulatory agencies
  • Provide training that will allow employees to comply with the DCCCD Board of Trustees mandates
  • Provide learning activities designed to ensure employees have the training needed to perform their jobs to prescribed standards.
