What is New Employee Orientation?
Visions: Service Excellence New Employee Orientation, coordinated by the District Human and Organizational Development (OrgDev) department, is a full-day districtwide orientation program. The purpose of the day is to introduce new employees to the mission, priorities, goals, and values of the DCCCD.
Who should attend?
Full-time and limited-full-time employees, including professional support staff, faculty and adjunct faculty and administrators can attend the program.
What are the benefits for me?
New DCCCD employees participating in the orientation will gain valuable information about the District’s culture. Staff completing the program will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

How do I register?
The Chancellor sends an invitation to new employees within the first three months of employment. To register for the orientation program complete the online reservation form.
When are classes held?
Districtwide orientations are held four times each academic year.

Program Objectives
The overall objectives of the program are to:
- Introduce new employees to the Chancellor, acquainting them with the Chancellor’s priorities and focus for the District
- Introduce new employees to the Values and Standards of Service document
- Provide an introduction to the DCCCD leadership structure including the Board of Trustees and the Chancellor’s Staff
- Provide an interactive session led by trained internal facilitators familiar with formation and circles of trust
