Richland College
Richland College logo and wordmarkIf you would like to submit a proposal for teaching a noncredit course at Richland College, we’ll be glad to offer you assistance and guidance with the process.

A new course proposal submitted to the Continuing Education Division must include the following information:

  • course title
  • proposed WECM
  • course type (lecture, demonstration, hands-on, etc.)
  • course description
  • learning outcomes
  • text
  • recommended course hours
  • equipment requirements
  • instructor training requirements
  • any supporting documentation
A meeting with the area programmer will finalize the proposal and assign a course tuition. The course is then presented to the area dean. In some cases the area vice president reviews the course for approval.

The process for teaching a noncredit class includes: completing a Summary of Qualifications form, an interview with the area programmer and in some cases the area dean, and copies of transcripts. Once you are deemed qualified to teach the subject material, you will be asked to complete the necessary HR application paperwork and will receive a contract to teach.
