Purpose:The Emeritus Program recognizes faculty and administrative employees who have served the district for 10 or more years in their contractual role. In thanks for their dedication to the system and our students and their continuing outreach, Emeritus are provided business cards at district expense with the "emeritus" designation.
Eligibility:Ten (10) years' service in the DCCCD as a faculty or an administrative employee.
 
Formal retirement from the DCCCD as evidenced by the board action upon their separation from service. (District Human Resources will confirm eligibility.)
Procedures:Eligible incumbents will:

  • Download and return the Emeritus program business card request form to District Human Resources--attn:  Felicia Johnson to be provided business cards (at district expense).  Please note that card orders may take up to six weeks to arrive in home mailboxes.
  • Be formally invited by location president to participate in graduation exercises at their last location of DCCCD service (individuals will use previously supplied academic regalia).
HR Responsibility:Location Human Resources will: 
  • Provide retiring incumbents professor emeritus form and information.

District Human Resources will:

  • Provide initial research and follow-up with previously retired faculty and administrators.
  • Provide the home college a listing (names and addresses) of eligible retirees for invitation purposes.
  • Provide eligible retirees business cards using the "professor emeritus" designation and retiree logo.
