Purpose:

This is to award stipends of either $8,000 or $5,000 to attract and retain qualified faculty in the areas of Nursing/Allied Health and Veterinary Technology. 

Background:The Board provides an annual stipend to full-time faculty teaching in the areas of RN, Surgical Technology, Veterinary Technology, LVN, Biotechnology, Cardio Vascular Technology (CVT), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Sonography, Medical Laboratory Technology, Echo cardiology), Radiological Technology and Respiratory Therapy.
Definitions:

The annual stipend is as follows:

Category 1 ($8,000) and includes those faculty teaching in:            

LVN Program  (Effective 9/1/2008)
RN Program            
Surgical Technology            
Veterinary Technology   

Category 2 ($5,000) and includes those faculty teaching in:            

Biotechnology                        
Cardio Vascular Technology (CVT)            
Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Sonography, Echo cardiology)            
Medical Laboratory Technology            
Radiological Technology            
Respiratory Therapy

Procedures:The Chancellor or his designee shall promulgate procedures to implement this provision.
