| Purpose: | An across-the-board salary adjustment of 3.5 percent has been approved for all full-time, limited full-time and part-time personnel employed as of Aug. 18, 2006. This document is to describe procedures to implement these changes.
The salary adjustment will be calculated based on the salary in effect on Aug. 31, 2006. For individuals promoted as a result of an ad-hoc evaluation between Aug. 19, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2006, the salary adjustment will be based on their salary in effect on Aug. 18, 2006.
Employees hired after Aug. 18, 2006, will not receive an across-the-board salary adjustment. All salary increases (salary adjustments, special equity adjustments, reclassification, movements to the salary range minimum, promotions, etc.) are added to the regular salary for the calculation of retirement contributions, MEDICARE contributions (if applicable), cost and worth of life insurance and disability selections. |
| Procedures: |
- The salary adjustments for Administrators and Faculty will be based on their 2005-2006 contracted salary as of Aug. 31, 2006, and salaries will be rounded to the nearest cent.
- The salary adjustments for all professional support staff will be based on their salary as of Aug. 31, 2006, and salaries will be rounded to the nearest cent.
- The salary adjustments for all Limited Full-Time PSS and Part-Time employees will be based on their hourly pay rate as of Aug. 31, 2006, and salaries will be rounded to the nearest cent. Please note that only individuals who are in a part-time position will start at the minimum hourly rate for the position (this includes someone who leaves a current part-time position and then comes back to work in another part-time position).
|
The order in which salary adjustments occur is as follows:
- The calculation of the across the board salary adjustment (3.5%) occurs prior to any other adjustment. It is based on the salary in effect on Aug. 31, 2006.
- Any promotion increase (7 percent or the new minimum, whichever is greater) effective on September 1, 2006, whether by job evaluation recommendation, career ladder consideration or competitive hiring, will be calculated based on the salary in effect on Aug. 31, 2006. These promotional increases will not be included in the across-the-board salary adjustment computation.
