Workload: Part-time instructors performing clinical and laboratory instruction within medical facilities covered under Board of Trustees approved clinical and laboratory instruction agreements are paid according to the following guidelines:

A. Computation of Clinical and Laboratory Instructional Load: Part-time instructor loads will be computed using the following grid based on the number of clinical or laboratory hours taught. Payment will be computed using the approved unit rate for part-time instructors.

B. Special Training, Orientation and Administrative Requirements: Part-time instructors will be paid to attend mandatory training, orientations and administrative conferences as prescribed in Board of Trustees approved clinical and laboratory instruction agreements. All such workload assignments must be approved by the dean of the instructional division in which the clinical or laboratory training curriculum is assigned and will be in accordance with the paragraphs below. 
 
A Special Employment Agreement (Part-time Instructor) form will be prepared covering all training, orientation and administrative requirements to be performed. All work hours must be documented on a monthly time sheet and will be paid at the approved Part-time Administrative Hourly Rate. 

Special Training Requirements: Part-time instructors will be paid up to 12 clock hours per semester to attend contractually required training and orientation sessions related to:

a. Clinical facility and technology orientation provided by the contracting facility for first-time instructors; and for continuing faculty when significant changes occur that might affect the student program success.

b. Orientation related to facility standards and compliance issues in areas such as Medicare participation and commission standards applicable to the facility.

Special Administrative Requirements: Part-time instructors will be paid to attend mandatory administrative and work unit management meetings.

a. Unit Team meetings, not to exceed eight clock hours per semester.

b. Clinical assignments, chart documentation follow-up and related operating conferences, not to exceed 45 clock hours per semester.
