All full-time and limited full-time personnel employed as of Aug. 18, 2006, will receive an across-the board salary adjustment of 3.5 percent.  The adjustment will be calculated based on the salary in effect on Aug. 31, 2006.

Examples:

a.  Across-the Board Salary Adjustment for Contractual Employees -

  • A contractually paid employee's 2005-06 annual salary is $48,588.
  • His/her 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment is $1,453.65 ($48,455 x 0.35 = $1,695.92).
  • His/her 2006-07 annual salary is $50,150.92 ($48,455 + 1,695.92).

b.  Across the Board Salary Adjustment for Monthly Employees -

  • A monthly paid employee's 2005-06 monthly salary is $1,788.
  • His/her 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment is $62.58 ($1,788 x 0.35 = $62.58).
  • His/her 2006-07 monthly salary is $1,850.58 ($1,788 + $62.58).

c.  Across the Board Salary Adjustment for Hourly Employees -

  • An hourly paid employee's 2005-06 hourly pay rate is $11.54
  • His/her 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment is $.40 ($11.54 x .035 = $.40).
  • His/her 2006-07 hourly pay rate is $11.94 ($11.54 + $.035 = $11.83).

d.  Promotion Prior to Sept. 1, 2006, but not input in Aug. 2006.

  • A Professional Support Staff employee is promoted to a new position effective Aug. 18, 2006.
  • His/her monthly salary prior to the move was $2,283.
  • He/she is eligible for a 7% promotion increase of $159.81 ($2,283 x .07 = $159.81). His/her monthly salary effective Aguust 18, 2006, was $2,442.81 ($2,283 + $159.81).
  • His/her 2006-2007 across the board salary adjustment is $79.90 ($2,283 x .035 = $79.90).
  • His/her 2006-2007 monthly salary is $2,522.71 ($2,442.81 monthly salary + $79.90 across the board salary adjustment).

e.  Job Reclassification Prior to Sept. 1, 2006 (Without Promotion) -

  • A Professional Support Staff position is reclassified without a promotion effective Aug. 10, 2006, as a result of the job evaluation process.
  • The employees 2006-07 monthly salary prior to the reclassification was $1,847, which is greater than the minimum of the position, which was alotted into Range 4 on the new salary schedule.
  • He/she will recieve the 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment of $3.5%.
  • His/her across the board salary adjustment is $64.64 ($1,847 x 0.35 = $64.64).
  • His/her 2006-07 monthly salary is $1,911.64 ($1,847 + $64.64).

f.  Faculty Reclassification -

  • A faculty member is eligible to be reclassified from range FA (FF1) to range FB (FF2).
  • His/her 2006-07 annual salary is $37,700.
  • His/her 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment is $1,319.50 ($37,700 x .035 = $1,319.50).
  • His/her 2006-07 annual salary as computed as $39,019.50 ($37,700 + $1,319.50).
  • He/she will receive $2,000 salary increase as a result of the reclassification.  Since the reclassification was not effective until Sept. 1, 2006, it is not incuded when computing the 2006-07 across the board salary adjustment.
  • In Sept., 2006, it is necessary to input a salary change to credit him/her with the reclassification increase.
  • His/her 2006-07 annual salary is $41,019.50 ($37,700 2005-2006 annual salary + $1,319.50 salary adjustment + $2,000 reclassification increase).
