| Purpose: | Full-time District personnel shall have paid holidays approved by the Board as may occur during their term of employment. |
| Definitions: | Schedule: Except as may be otherwise approved by the Board, the following shall be the District Holiday schedule:

| Exceptions To Policy: | In the event that a full-time employee is required to work on a holiday, the supervisor should make arrangements to either give the employee another day off in lieu of this day or should agree to pay the employee in accordance with DCCCD Compensation Time/Overtime guidelines. Additionally, if the holiday falls on a day that the employee is normally off, then the employee should get another day off or be paid for this day at their regular rate of pay if exempt or the overtime rate of pay if non-exempt. |
| Other Notes: | Employees on Leave Without Pay the day before and/or the day following the holiday shall not receive compensation for the holiday during such leave.
An employee who is absent without proper authorization on the day before and/or the day following a holiday shall not receive compensation for such holiday.
Limited full-time employees are not eligible for holiday leave or compensation.
Vacation and/or sick leave cannot be used for Holiday compensation as the Locations are officially closed. |
