Excellent teamwork and service are hallmarks of the Dallas County Community College District. As we begin the 43 year of service to the citizens of Dallas County, it is that time for the District Administration and the Locations to launch the start of the annual awards selection process that concludes with the awards reception and ceremony.
Eastfield College is the host college for the 2010 Conference Day and a planning committee headed by Jenny Matthews and Sharon Cook is working with District Office staff members, Ellen Benson and Dawn Segroves, towards planning an impressive reception to be held in early spring, just prior to District Conference Day Celebrations.
On this page, you will find links to DCCCD award guidelines and forms, the Time Line for 2009-2010 and a list of the 2009/10 Awards Planning/Process Committee. As information about the reception becomes available, this also will be posted.
Learning Technology Innovation of the Year
The Learning Technology Innovation of the Year Award for 2009-2010 is resultant from a recommendation made via the Distance Learning Strategic Planning process during 2007-2008. This award is a districtwide pilot focused on innovations in learning technology that are scalable, sustainable and replicable with a focus on student success.
Unlike the Innovation of the Year Award, the Learning Technology IOY award is not a "national award" nor is it a replacement for the District's Innovation of the Year award. A district-wide recipient will be honored during the DCCCD's awards reception this spring (early February) and will also receive an trophy/plaque to commemorate the award. The Nominees for the Innovation of the Year may be submitted as nominees for the Learning Technology IOY.

Innovation of the Year Award
The Innovation of the Year Award was implemented in 1982 by the League for Innovation in Community Colleges. The purpose of the program is to recognize either individual employees or teams who have designed and implemented a significant innovation in the district. Each location selects a nominee to be submitted for consideration for the districtwide award. A cross-section of employees from throughout the district selects the districtwide winner of this award.
Jean Sharon Griffith Student Development Leadership Award
