The Office of Workforce Education is a part of the staff of Academic and Student Programs within the District Office of Educational Affairs. The Office of Workforce Education works in cooperation with DCCCD colleges to develop, implement, evaluate and market workforce education and training programs offered for semester credit hours and Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.s). The primary functions of the office include:
Ensue compliance with:
- DCCCD Policy Manual (EFAB)
- THECB Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education 2003
- THECB Workforce Education Course Manual
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Commission on Colleges Criteria for Accreditation (SACS)

Serve as the liaison for the DCCCD to the THECB Community and Technical College Division on matters related to workforce education;
Maintain the Continuing Education Course Master File and issue CE Course Numbers as needed by DCCCD colleges. The District Director of Workforce Education coordinates the meetings and issues the minutes of the Technical Education Deans' Council and the Continuing Education Deans' Council. The Office of Workforce Education serves as an informational resource for policies, procedures, guidelines, documents and forms associated with workforce education programs and courses.
