The Inverted Plan, as the name suggests, turns upside down or reverses the order in which courses are taken. In a traditional degree plan a student acquires the basic academic courses the first two years of college and then specializes in a subject area the last two years. Whereas, in an Inverted Plan, a student specializes in a subject (technical/occupational) area the first two years of college and then acquires the basic academic courses the last two years.
