Dallas County Community College District presents:
The Eighth Annual Advisors Forum
Meeting Students’ Needs
Brookhaven College
Friday, September 24th, 2004
8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Forum provides a valuable professional development opportunity for individuals within the DCCCD who advise and counsel students. It's a chance for student services professionals to learn, share information and ideas, and network with District colleagues in an open, relaxed setting.
This year’s theme, Meeting Students’ Needs, is reflective of the continuing new issues that come up in advising. You can look forward to breakout sessions on varied advising issues, including:
| Health Occupations |
Characteristics of the New College Student |
| Continuing Education |
Academic Systems |
| Transfer Student Information |
Intercultural Competence |
| Tech Prep and Texas Two Step |
Texas Success Initiative & Texas Higher Education Assessment Updates |
Two general sessions are planned. None other than the District (interim) Vice-Chancellor of Educational Affairs, Dr. Richard McCrary, will address one general session. Dr. Ernest L. Thomas, President, Tarrant County Colleges – South Campus, will address the other general session.
This event is free of charge. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and all events will conclude by 3:00 p.m.
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided; this program may be used for LPC/CEU credit.
