Dear [First Name]:

We hope you are enjoying your enrollment at the University of North Texas (UNT).  It appears that you transferred to UNT from Dallas County Community College District District (DCCCD) without completing your associate degree program.  [First Name], we want you to know that UNT and DCCCD have entered into a partnership that allows students to complete their community college degree program by the reverse transfer of college credits. This means that you could transfer your UNT credits back to DCCCD, in order to complete your associate degree program requirements.

To take advantage of the UNT and DCCCD Reverse Transfer of Credits Agreement, you must meet the following criteria:

Have earned at least 18 semester credit hours from DCCCD.

Have earned at least 15 semester credit hours from UNT.

Transferred to UNT with DCCCD as the last school attended.

Be in “Good Standing” at both DCCCD and UNT.

[First Name], if you meet the above criteria and are interested in this opportunity, please complete and submit the Reverse Transfer of Credit form to:

University of North Texas (UNT)

Registrar’s Office, 1155 Union Circle #311400

Denton, TX 76203-1277 or 940-565-4463 (Fax).

A copy of the Reverse Transfer of Credit form will be sent to the DCCCD campus you last attended, in order for an official degree audit to be performed by a degree program advisor. Once the audit is completed, a letter will be sent to you indicating the requirements needed, if any, for the associate degree from DCCCD. The determination as to what UNT credits can be transferred to DCCCD, and be used to satisfy your Associate degree program, will be decided by a DCCCD degree program advisor. By completing and signing the enclosed release form, you give UNT permission to release your UNT academic record to DCCCD

Should you have any questions or would like additional information regarding the UNT and DCCCD DCCCD Reverse Transfer of Credits Agreement, please contact our office at 940-565-2111 or www.essc.unt.edu/registrar.

Your partner in transfer,
Lynn McCreary
