Articulation and Transfer Agreement
Between
Dallas County Community College
and
Lamar University

Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) and Lamar University hereby agree to an educational partnership to create a seamless transfer and to establish and improve the transfer process for our mutual students, we agree to the following:

Students who follow the DCCCD recommended program of study and who meet all other admission requirements shall be eligible for admission to Lamar University. Transferring students will be held to identical standards for selecting a major degree sequence as those required for any other Lamar University students.

Representatives from DCCCD and Lamar University will meet or make contact during July of each year to exchange course catalogs and to discuss course equivalencies and transfer information pertinent to the upcoming academic year.

A student transferring to Lamar University under this agreement will have acceptance of DCCCD academic credit hours, with the following conditions:

1. Transfer students will receive academic credit for transferable college level courses as determined by the receiving institution.   All courses completed with a grade of D or higher will be transferable.  Lamar University will work in each student’s best interest to apply transfer credits to individual degree programs. Remedial/developmental and technical /vocational courses will not be accepted in transfer unless specified in a specific degree program.
2. Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all prior academic college work attempted for admission to Lamar University. Some majors may require a higher GPA and/or additional specific courses.
3. Transfer students seeking a baccalaureate degree must meet all General Education Requirements including a minimum of 30 semester credit hours in residence at Lamar University and 45 semester hours of upper division (junior/senior level) coursework.
4. Students may transfer up to 66 credit hours of community college coursework.

Note: Remedial/developmental or technical/vocational courses will not be included for transfer in this General Articulation Agreement from DCCCD colleges unless specified by individual colleges in a Program-to-Program Articulation Agreement.

Agreement continuation and dissolution:

This agreement will be reviewed every two years, or any other times time designated by either party. The presidents of DCCCD and Lamar University, or their designees must approve all amendments to this agreement. This agreement is effective in the first long semester following the signing by the involved parties.  Each party is free to publicize this partnership in a manner consistent with the agreement. This articulation agreement shall remain effective until one, or both, institutions deem it necessary to terminate it.
