STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Dallas County Community College District and University of Texas at Dallas hereby enter into the following agreement governing the matriculation of Dallas County Community College District students to the University of Texas at Dallas. This contract shall commence on September 1, 2000. And shall continue until such time as either or both institutions wish to terminate it. This agreement sets forth the terms and conditions of students’ transfer from Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) (including all of the following DCCCD colleges: Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake, and Richland) to the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

In order to facilitate and improve the transfer process for our mutual students, DCCCD and UTD hereby enter into the following agreement:

DCCCD students who follow the recommended program of study – the common core and transfer curriculum, and who meet all other admissions requirements shall be eligible for admission to UTD. Transfer students must meet the same standards and criteria for admission to a major degree sequence as a native UTD student.

UTD will develop Transfer Guides and a Course Equivalency Guide, utilizing both UTD and DCCCD numbers for all majors offered at UTD. By creating these guides UTD and DCCCD assure students that courses listed in these guides are freely transferable between UTD and DCCCD.

Representatives from UTD and the DCCCD will meet or make contact during August of each year to update course equivalencies, transfer guides and transfer admission information to be used the subsequent academic year.

A student transferring to UTD under this agreement shall have acceptance of academic credit hours earned at DCCCD, with the following condition that the curricular and general conditions be met:

  1. Transfer students will receive academic credit for transferable college level courses only completed with a grade of "C" or better. Remedial and developmental courses will not be accepted in transfer.
  2. The student must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.50 if transferring 54+ hours, if transferring less than 54 hours freshman and sophomore admission standards apply.
  3. Students must earn at least 51 upper level hours 30 upper level credit hours in residence at UTD.

AGREEMENT CONTINUATION AND DISSOLUTION

This agreement shall be reviewed on an annual basis or any time program changes are to be made by either institution. Any program changes will be identified and incorporated into subsequent agreements. The DCCCD Chancellor and the UTD President, or their designees must approve amendments to this agreement. Any other modifications to this agreement may be made following written notice from the DCCCD Chancellor and the UTD President, or their designees. Once this agreement is signed by the appropriate officials at DCCCD and UTD, each is free to publicize this arrangement in a manner consistent with the agreement. This articulation agreement shall remain in effect until one or both institutions deem it necessary to terminate it.

By signing each party recognizes the commitment to exchange only the most current and accurate information. This agreement may be terminated by either party by giving written notice of said party’s intention to the Chancellor of the DCCCD or his designee and the President of UTD, or his designee.
