Dallas County Community College District (hereafter referred to as "DCCCD") - including all of the following DCCCD campuses: Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake, and Richland - and Texas A&M University-Commerce have enjoyed an excellent working relationship for many years. Students prepared in the freshman and sophomore level of studies at DCCCD have transferred and performed well at Texas A&M University-Commerce. DCCCD and Texas A&M University-Commerce, by agreeing to the following provisions, reaffirm their continued collaboration and commitment to facilitate the ease of transfer for students moving from DCCCD’s associate in arts and associate in sciences degrees into baccalaureate programs at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

DCCCD students following the recommended program of study – common core and transfer curriculum - and who meet all other admissions requirements will be given admission to Texas A&M University-Commerce. Transferring students must meet the same standards and criteria for admission to a major degree sequence as a native Texas A&M University-Commerce student. Students transferring prior to completion of the core curriculum shall be awarded transfer credit in each core component area completed. Students transferring prior to the completion of the associate in arts or associate in science s degree will be eligible for the award of an associate degree upon reverse transfer from Texas A&M University-Commerce of courses required for the completion of the associate degree as determined by DCCCD and if other associate degree requirements are met.

Texas A&M University-Commerce has developed and will continue to provide transfer degree guides utilizing the Texas Common Course Numbers to identify the courses to be completed at DCCCD. Core curriculum and major courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce will also be identified on the transfer guides, using the university course numbers. Transfer course equivalencies will be made available online and in printed versions. Students may access the degree and course equivalencies guides on the Texas A&M University-Commerce web site under Future Students, Transfer Admissions. The degree guides and transfer course equivalencies assure students that courses listed in these guides are freely transferable between DCCCD and Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Representatives from DCCCD and Texas A&M University-Commerce will meet or make contact each year to exchange course catalogs and update course equivalencies, transfer guides and transfer admission information to be used the subsequent academic year.

Texas A&M University-Commerce will provide transfer scholarship opportunities for DCCCD transfer students who attend Texas A&M University-Commerce and meet Texas A&M University-Commerce transfer scholarship criteria for designated scholarships. Phi Theta Kappa scholarships will be available to transfer students who are members of their respective DCCCD college honor society chapter and meet grade point average and hours requirements for the scholarship. Information about student eligibility for the scholarships is accessible on the Texas A&M University-Commerce web site.

A student transferring to Texas A&M University-Commerce under this agreement will have acceptance of DCCCD academic credit hours, with the following conditions:

Transfer students will receive academic credit for college level courses only, completed with a grade of "D" or better. However, courses completed with a grade of "D" will not be applied to the major. Remedial and developmental courses will not be accepted in transfer.

The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on all hours attempted and 21 earned hours for transfer admission to Texas A&M University-Commerce. Other offices/departments may have additional requirements for admission to specific programs.

The student must complete at least 36 semester hours at the advanced level, 24 of which must be completed in residence at Texas A&M University-Commerce. A minimum of 60 semester hours from Texas A&M University-Commerce or another senior institution are required for bachelor degree completion. At least 25% of credit semester hours must be earned through instruction at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Texas A&M University-Commerce will accept between 60-66 semester credit hours from DCCCD in transfer or toward a degree program depending upon the specific program requirements.

This agreement serves to update the provisions of the Northeast Texas Transfer System (NeTTS) dual admission program agreement signed on the 15th day of April 1992. DCCCD will continue to be a participating member institution of NeTTS and DCCCD students may continue to participate in the NeTTS dual admission program by contacting the Texas A&M University-Commerce Transfer Admissions Office.

Requirements for DCCCD student participation in the NeTTS dual admission program include completion of the preapplication form or online submission of information through the Texas A&M University-Commerce web site. Specific, individualized degree audits will be produced and updated each semester prior to enrollment with Texas A&M University-Commerce. Participating DCCCD students will be assigned a Texas A&M University-Commerce Transfer Admissions Office contact to facilitate campus visits and appointments with academic departments. Upon transfer, students will be responsible for filing an official degree plan with the academic department of their major.

The DCCCD Chancellor and the Texas A&M University-Commerce President, or their designees must approve amendments to this agreement. This agreement is effective upon signing by the authorized representatives of each institution, and each is free to publicize this partnership in a manner consistent with the agreement. This articulation agreement shall remain effective until one, or both, institutions deem it necessary to terminate it. The terms and conditions of this agreement do not preclude or override existing articulation agreements for specific degree programs between Texas A&M University-Commerce and individual colleges in the DCCCD.

The authorized representatives of the parties have executed this agreement in duplicate originals. An original, signed copy of this agreement will be maintained by each of the institutions.
