Labor Market Information

Local Labor Market Information is a critical tool to students when planning their career. Students should survey their interests and skills and then review the careers available or projected in their region. Once this initial research is done, students are equipped to work with their parents and school counselors to create an educational plan to prepare them for the challenges of their career. Remember, challenge yourself, don't settle for "the easy way out", but explore careers and work hard to achieve your dream!

In the North Central Texas region, serving Dallas, Tarrant, and the 12 counties surrounding the "metroplex", an organization is dedicated to making labor market information easy to understand by the parent and student: InterLink. The North Central Texas Tech Prep Consortium uses InterLink's analysis when creating programs that help students prepare for high skill high wage jobs requiring more then a high school diploma.

InterLink's mission is clear: To lead in forging partnerships between business, education, government, parents and students, to identify education and training needs of employers, resulting in a seamless education that provides a quality work force which is globally competitive and supports the region's economic development activities.
