Increase the number of high school students who enroll, persist, and graduate from AAS Tech-Prep programs and are placed in relevant jobs or go on to additional education.

Measure A: Over the next three years, the NCTTPC will promote a tech prep program awareness campaign to market tech prep programs to students, parents, business and industry. This campaign will increase the total number of high school students enrolled in a tech prep sequence of courses by at least 5% each year.

NCTTPC: Develop software that enables High School students to input tech prep intent forms to each sector using the website.

Measure B: identify the number of high school students enrolled in a Tech Prep sequence of courses taking the recommended high school graduation plan.

Work with TEA and the THECB to motivate ISDs to create a baseline database of tech prep students that are enrolled in the Recommended Plan.

Measure C: Identify the number of students enrolling at public two year associate degree granting institutions who have completed a high school Tech Prep sequence.

A 5% increase in students will be realized each year during the following years (2000-2004)

Measure D: Initiate a system that follows persistence, graduation, and placement studies to further document performance of tech prep students at 2-year colleges.

SP Com: Monitor all activities implemented and provide verbal quarterly reports with handouts to NCTTPC Steering Committee. Provide copies of reports to Director.

Com: Revise process based upon feedback by Coordinators, high school and college PoCs, and students. Provide SC with revised process and implement as approved.

NCTTPC Coordinators: Phase 2: Provide high school liaisons with the database of all students potentially qualifying for earned tech prep credit. Provide floppy disk.

High School PoCs: provide the Sector Coordinators with the number of students that are defined as tech prep students at their school who are enrolled in the Recommended Graduation Plan and Distinguished Graduation Plan. Return floppy with updated information containing student id, tech prep courses, graduation plan, etc.

Coordinators: Create an agreeable plan with High Schools for "Identification of students enrolling at public 2-year associate institutions who have completed a high school tech prep sequence." Present proposal to NCTTPC SC for discussion and approval

C/HS/C: Continue to improve the student transition process and share all new ideas to consortium members.

College: Actively recruits all students given them as potential tech prep students. College identifies the student per the transition process. College gives master list of students requesting articulated credit each semester to each participating school by program and course. Each Sector will create a plan for "following up on the performance of the college tech prep student completer and non-completer.

Director: Create a table comparing data of this year to that of previous years. Calculate the increase in student enrollment.

Com: Suggest improvements to current process. Implement upon approval by Steering Committee. Provide SC with proposed process implement process approved by SC.

Com: Revise process based upon feedback by Coordinators, high school and college PoCs, and students. Provide Regional office with this information.

Sectors: Participate or present at the Counselors Network program offered in your area.
