Richard D. McCrary International Scholarship Award

The Dallas County Community College District Foundation Office has announced the establishment of the Richard D. McCrary International Scholarship Award. This award was established to provide financial assistance for DCCCD students enrolling in a District-sponsored international travel opportunity. Applicants are required to be a second-semester DCCCD student and have been accepted into a DCCCD-sponsored study abroad experience for academic credit, have a minimum 2.5 G.P.A., or better, and have completed at least 12 college-level credit hours at a DCCCD College. Applications are due by March 15. Contact the DCCCD Foundation Office at 214-860-2149 for further information concerning the application process and a Scholarship Application Form.

The Richard D. McCrary International Scholarship Award pays tribute to the vision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Educational Affairs who for over twenty years has been instrumental in the development and success of international education in the DCCCD. His travels have taken him "around the world," having visited over thirty-three countries in his illustrious career. Dr. McCrary believes many students do not have the opportunity to study outside the U.S. because of limited financial resources. As a result of the contributions of so many, at least one student may gain such an opportunity through this scholarship.
