College Connections
DCCCD partners with the DISD Reconnection centers to coordinate visits and activities at each of the seven campuses. Students are involved in a scavenger hunt that divides students into three teams and visit the college's services and programs. This activity targets at risk and non-traditional students. Fifteen Reconnection Centers participate.  Student participation varies between 15 to 25 students per campus visit.

Target: Dallas ISD 9th - 12th grade students attending Reconnection Centers

Motivational Speakers Series
Since 1998, the DCCCD Motivational Speakers Series featuring Jimmy Cabrera has presented over 380 programs, reaching more than 130,000 students at no cost to the ISD’s in Dallas County. The series is designed each year to impart a motivational "stay in school" message to intermediate, middle school and high school students throughout Dallas County. In 2007, DORCE successfully sponsored a pilot effort with a local team, Drama Teach, to provide motivational workshops to at-risk males in middle school. Additional workshops will be coordinated for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Target: Intermediate, middle and high school students throughout Dallas County.
