Angelo Alcalá, Ph.D. is an instructor in the ESOL Teaching Academy where he teaches courses in listening/speaking and in writing. He received his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 1999. He has served on various state committees of professional bilingual education/ESL organizations and has presented at numerous regional, state, and national conferences. Prior to his college teaching experience, Alcalá was a public school teacher in Texas. He holds a Texas teaching certificate in the following areas: Elementary/secondary education, bilingual education, ESL, and Spanish.
