| Recommendations to the THECB |

The DCCCD poses one strong recommendation to the THECB. The DCCCD recommends that the THECB staff shepherd efforts to improve communication between two-year and four-year colleges regarding student performance data. Two-year colleges need data which facilitate the study of the performance of community college “core completers” once they have transferred four-year institutions. Several colleges of the DCCCD are currently working to gather data from receiving institutions, but the THECB will benefit all colleges by taking the steps necessary to make such information more readily available. Tracking the performance of “core completers” in state institutions can help all colleges improve teaching and learning in the core courses.
