November activities included:
During the month of November, the Core 2009 hosted and participated in forums at all 7 colleges.
Forums - 390 faculty and staff attended and offered perspectives on what students will need to learn from their core curriculum studies to prepare them for transfer to university and for the workplace.
Suggestion forms – Began reviewing input from suggestion forms.
Identified leadership teams for committee discussions and for review of other Texas colleges’ and universities’ core curricula.
Established dates for student forums in late January and early February.
Identified ways to engage college faculty and staff to continue to submit ideas using the suggestion form.
Initiated some data requests for review in spring.
Completed review of preliminary readings.
December Activities will include:
Aggregation of College forum data
Review of THECB documents
Review of DCCCD core
Study of courses in the Academic Course Guide Manual that might be included in a core curriculum
Review of other Texas college and university core curricula
Use of eCampus discussion board to share insights
January Activities will include:
Invitation to college faculty and staff to participate using the Core 2009

Workshop reviewing December studies
