I would like to nominate Dawn Segroves for our own personal 701 Wonder Woman. She has been the quiet machine working away in back of the Conference Day Chair, carrying out all requests and finding ways to make the ideas happen. Dawn has worked tirelessly, with dedication and commitment, to help make the 40th Annual District Conference Day a success for every single one of us.
I appreciated her quiet energy and wonderful sense of humor in the face of so many challenges that came her way on this project. Dawn ultimately triumphed over all of the major challenges that come with an event of this scope and magnitude. These challenges included orders that didn’t come in when they were expected, printers not working when needed, being a mind reader to know which folks may come even though they didn’t RSVP and handling questions that were flying at her from multiple directions at once.
Dawn often seems to see herself as “just doing her job,” when in reality, she makes the district a much friendlier and more pleasant place for all of us to work. She is a wonderful, quiet force who is an asset to the district and to 701.
