April Ellis, who joined the office of marketing and communications two years ago, is senior Web editor – a job that includes editing copy for the district Web site, writing original copy for the district Web site, collaborating with all district departments to develop content for their own Web pages, and participating in a variety of districtwide committees related to Web site development and enhancement.

April’s quiet determination makes her an invaluable member of the district marketing and communications office. She is focused on accuracy, excellent communications and information for both internal and external audiences, and working with others so that they can "put their best foot forward" on their Web pages.

She brings years of editing and writing experience in a variety of media, including periodicals and books. Her experience in the corporate world taught her skills that she uses today to constantly improve upon the content of DCCCD’s Web site. April deals with many different types of information and is able to distill and share that information in forms that are easy to understand and that project the quality image of our district that we wish to share with others.

She is dedicated to delivering a quality product; she is meticulous and detail-oriented; and she won’t settle for anything less than the best. As a result, April is self-disciplined – a "must" – so that she can accomplish all of the tasks associated with her position.

In addition to her long list of job-related duties, April also is actively involved in PSSA, including fundraising efforts for the District Office.

April is an outstanding employee whom we believe is deserving of this recognition. She truly is that person who sees herself as "just doing her job," and she’s a hero to us every day.
