Twanda has been employed by DCCCD since February 1988, when she began working at Brookhaven College. In May 1989 she joined the District Development Office, where she has gained extensive grant experience. Her area of specialization is in post-award administration for local, state and federal grants totaling more than $20 million in restricted funds in the district, which involves working with grant staff on program implementation management from start-up to close-out, and providing in-house grant training opportunities that are available free to all staff.
Twanda is a product of the DCCCD, where she earned an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree in Management as well as Management and Supervision certificates from Cedar Valley College in Lancaster. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in human relations and business from Amberton University in Garland.
She has received certificates of training in leadership, grants management and state and federal grant compliance regulations. She is actively involved in the Council for Resource Development (CRD) based in Washington, D.C., and has been a member for more than 11 years.
