Betheny L. Reid has more than 28 years of professional experience in marketing communications, public affairs and development in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Prior to joining the DCCCD Foundation as executive director in 1997, Betheny served as president of a high-profile business association representing one of the largest economic development districts in the nation. During that tenure, she secured corporate and private sponsorship for five of the six largest events held in North Texas. Betheny also has served as marketing director for a Fortune 1000 company and chief of staff for the presiding elected official of Dallas County.

During her tenure as executive director of the DCCCD Foundation, Betheny has been
responsible for doubling the organization’s assets, securing the largest gifts in the foundation’s 26-year history and launching the nationally recognized Rising Star Program — all during her first year. She serves on the DCCCD Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Betheny is the only community college representative on the Council for Advancement in Schools and Education (CASE) International Commission on Marketing and Communications.
