Help your work group work better: Get a Team Site on DCCCD’s myPortal.
Team Sites are available now on myPortal (https://myportal.dcccd.edu). All you have to do is request one (with your supervisor’s approval).
What Is a Team Site?
A Team Site is where most of the great collaboration tools in myPortal are housed. Only members of the team can access the documents. Councils, departments, task forces and other work groups that need to collaborate will find a Team Site useful.
Here are a few of the things you can do with a Team Site:
Share documents that only other team members can see.
Access those documents from any computer, not just your work computer.
Set up a calendar just for your team’s events.
Post announcements just for your team.
Team Sites are available for all officially sanctioned student organizations, councils, teams, work groups, task forces, departments and departmental work groups. If you are not sure if the group you have in mind qualifies, check with your supervisor. He/she is the person who has the authority to approve the group.
How Do I Get Started?
First, you must have verified your Windows user name. If you have already received confirmation from DSC-IT that you have verified, you are now able to request a Team Site.
Here’s the information you’ll need to request a Team Site:
Name and Colleague ID (7-digit employee ID number) of the team leader
Names and Colleague IDs (7-digit employee ID number) of each team member
Name and contact information of the team sponsor
Take Team Site training as soon as possible after your Team Site is created. (The prerequisite for Team Site training is myPortal Intro.) Contact District Software Training and Support to see scheduled training or to request training.
