All full-time and part-time personnel employed as of May 31, 2013, will receive across the board salary adjustment of one percent (1%). The adjustment will be calculated based on the salary in effect on August 31, 2013. This year the one percent (1%) COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) was approved for all employees except student assistants, phased faculty and administrators in unbanded positions.

Examples:

a. Across-the Board Salary Adjustment for Contractual Employees -

  • A contractually paid employee's 2012-13 annual salary is $45,681.00.
  • His/her 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment is $456.81 ($45,681.00 x 0.01 = $456.81).
  • His/her 2013-14 annual salary is $46,137.81 ($45,681.00 + $456.81).

b. Across the Board Salary Adjustment for for Faculty Employees -

  • A faculty employee's 2012-13 annual salary is $44,485.00.
  • His/her 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment is $444.85 ($44,485.00 x 0.01 = $444.85).
  • His/her 2013-14 annual salary is $44,929.85 ($44,485.00 + $444.85).

c. Across the Board Salary Adjustment for Monthly Employees -

  • A monthly paid employee's 2012-13 monthly salary is $1,788.00.
  • His/her 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment is $17.88 ($1,788.00 x 0.01 = $17.88).
  • His/her 2013-14 monthly salary is $1,805.88 ($1,788.00 + $17.88).

d. Across the board Salary Adjustment for Hourly Employees -

  • An hourly paid employee's 2012-13 hourly pay rate is $12.20.
  • His/her 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment is $0.12 ($12.20 x 0.01 = $0.12).
  • His/her 2013-14 hourly pay rate is $12.32 ($12.20 + $0.12 = $12.32).

e. Promotion Prior to September 1, 2013, but not input in August 2013 -

  • A Professional Support Staff employee is promoted to a new position effective August 8, 2013.
  • His/her monthly salary prior to the move was $2,283.00.
  • He/she is eligible for a 7% promotion increase of $159.81 ($2,283.00 x 0.07 = $159.81).
  • His/her monthly salary effective August 8, 2013, should be $2,442.81 ($2,283.00 + $159.81).
  • His/her 2013-2014 across the board salary adjustment is $24.43 ($2,442.81 x 0.01 = $24.43).
  • His/her 2013-2014 monthly salary is $2,467.24 ($2,442.81 monthly salary + $24.43 across the board salary adjustment).

f. Job Reclassification Prior to September 1, 2013 (Without Promotion) -

  • A Professional Support Staff position is reclassified without a promotion effective August 1, 2013, as a result of the job evaluation process.
  • The employee's 2012-13 monthly salary prior to the reclassification was $1,878.00, which is a greater than the minimum of the position, which was allotted into Range 4 on the new salary schedule.
  • He/she will receive the 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment of 1%.
  • His/her across the board salary adjustment is $18.78 ($1,878.00 x 0.01 = $18.78).
  • His/her 2013-14 monthly salary is $1,896.00 ($1,878.78 + $18.78).

g. Promotion Effective September 1, 2013 -

  • A Professional Support Staff employee is promoted to a new position effective September 1, 2013.
  • His/her monthly salary prior to the move was $2,283.00.
  • He/She is eligible for a 7% promotion increase of $159.81 ($2,283.00 x 0.07 = $159.81).
  • His/her monthly salary effective September 1, 2013, should be $2,442.81 ($2,283.00 + $159.81).
  • His/her 2013-14 across the board salary adjustment is $22.83 ($2,283.00 x 0.01 = $22.83). Note that the 1% is based on the salary before the across the board increase.
  • His/her 2013-2014 monthly salary will be $2,465.64 ($2,442.81 monthly salary + $22.83 across the board salary adjustment).

h. Faculty Reclassification -

  • A faculty member is eligible to be reclassified from range FA (FF1) to range FB (FF2).
  • His/her 2012-2013 annual salary is $45,200.00.
  • His/her 2013-2014 across the board salary adjustment is $452.00 ($45,200.00 x 0.01 = $452.00).
  • His/her 2013-2014 annual salary as computed is $47,652.00 ($45,200.00 + $452.00 + $2,000.00).
