What is a Discussion Group?

A discussion group, commonly called a newsgroup or forum, allows users with common interests to exchange ideas and messages in an online format. There are generally two kinds of discussion groups: Internet discussion groups and local discussion groups.

Messages posted to Internet discussion groups are sent to other discussion group servers on the Web. Messages posted to DCCCD local discussion groups stay on the DCCCD discussion group server and are not sent to other discussion group servers on the Web.
