Eligibility for Federal Student Financial Aid
To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
- Have a demonstrated financial need
- Have a high school diploma or GED, or meet special ability-to-benefit requirements
- Be registered with the Selective Service (if required)
- Be enrolled in an eligible program
Note: DCCCD students who are applying for financial aid must select an eligible program of study before the first disbursement (distribution) of financial aid. To select an eligible degree or certificate program, please log in to eConnect and visit FA Program Selection.
- Be in compliance with the satisfactory academic progress (SAP) policy for federal aid
- Not owe a refund on a federal grant or be in default on a federal educational loan
