Faculty and Respiratory Care Program Coordinator
El Centro College

Idichandi Idicula teaches several Respiratory Care courses as well as HPRS 1271, Basic Health Professions Skills II. He holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in physics and the other in education, from the University of Kerala, India, as well as a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Texas. He is a registered respiratory therapist (RRT) and certified pulmonary function technologist (CPFT), as well as a CPR and ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) instructor.

A five-year teaching veteran of DCCCD, he has also taught at the Metropolitan Group of Hospitals’ School of Respiratory Therapy, affiliated with the University of Illinois, and developed and taught an accelerated in-house respiratory therapy program while working as a respiratory care educational coordinator at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He received the Monaghan/Trudell Fellowship Award for aerosol technique development in 2002 from the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF). He is an active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) and a member of the Geriatric Society of Respiratory Care.
