How to Get Started
To get started in the Respiratory Care program, complete the admissions process at El Centro College. Check out the admission requirements (PDF - 352KB) for the Respiratory Care program.
When you meet with an academic advisor, mention your interest in the Respiratory Care program so he or she can help you determine which courses you should take. If you are planning to earn an associate degree, please note that you must complete 25 percent of your degree requirements at the college awarding the degree (El Centro College).
Tuition
Dallas County residents pay $123 per three-hour class — that’s $41 per credit hour, or less than $500 for a full semester load of 12 credit hours. Compare that to what you’d pay elsewhere! See DCCCD tuition rates for tuition according to your place of residency.

Developing Skills for Success
DCCCD’s Respiratory Care program is offered only at El Centro College. Its curriculum is taught in class during the last 13 months of the program, with lecture and lab at the college’s campus at 801 Main St. in downtown Dallas (maps). Clinical activity is conducted in health care facilities across Dallas County. There is no part-time or distance learning component for the program at this time.
