Faculty El Centro College Jo Jackson has more than 40 years’ experience in radiography and education and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Formerly the director of the Parkland School of Radiologic Sciences, she has also served as director of the School of Radiologic Technology at Southern Illinois University, and was responsible for beginning the radiography program and serving as the first program coordinator for the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.
Ms. Jackson was the program coordinator for El Centro’s Radiologic Sciences program from 1996 until stepping down in August 2006. She has served as the president of the Illinois Society of Radiologic Technologists and as the educational chair for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
She also served more than 20 years as a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the agency responsible for accrediting programs in radiologic technology.
