Program Coordinator and Faculty
Brookhaven College
Christi Carter, who serves as Brookhaven’s Radiological Sciences program coordinator, holds associate and bachelor’s degrees in radiologic science, as well as a master’s degree in radiologic science with an emphasis in education, all from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
She has also worked as a staff technologist, PACS administrator, clinical educator and clinical manager at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas for five years, and spent two and a half years as an applications specialist at Siemens Medical Systems. She has recently published a book with Elsevier Publishing titled “Digital Radiography and PACS.”
Christi is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT); the Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology (ACERT); the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists (TSRT); and the North Texas Radiologic Technologists Society (NTRTS).
Christi joined DCCCD as a faculty member in September 2003 to help form the college’s new Radiologic Science program. The program’s first class was accepted in January 2004 and graduated in December 2005. As of fall 2007, the program has accepted five classes and graduated three of those with a 100 percent pass rate on their ARRT registry.
