Ms. Adair graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Minot State College (now Minot State University) in Minot, N.D.; a master’s degree in public administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco; and a master’s degree in nursing from Northwestern Louisiana State University in Natchitoches, La.
A registered nurse (RN) for 41 years, Joyce Adair has logged many years of hospital staff nursing, including experience as a nurse with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.
She has taught for four years at DCCCD, as adjunct faculty at El Centro College and full-time at Brookhaven College. She has also taught at Texas Woman’s University’s Dallas Parkland campus; University of Central Arkansas, Conway, Ark.; Northwestern State University, Shreveport, La.; and Minot State College.
She is certified in inpatient obstetrics through the National Certification Corp. (NCC) and in advanced life support in obstetrics, and is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society.
Ms. Adair teaches Maternal/Newborn Nursing, Nursing Skills I and II, foundations in nursing clinical rotation and pharmacology for nurses online.
