Dr. Pat Moeck holds a doctoral degree from the University of North Texas, a master’s degree in health services management from the University of Dallas and a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. She has completed additional continuing education, undergraduate and post-graduate work at UT-Austin, SMU, UNT, El Centro College, North Central Texas College, the Universities Center at Dallas and UNT Systems Center.
She has served as director of El Centro’s Medical Assisting program since 1996, before that serving as adjunct faculty for Richland College, as a medical assisting practitioner for four years, and as a public and private secondary school teacher.
Dr. Moeck holds professional certifications as a Texas Secondary Education Teacher, Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants, and as a mediator in dispute mediation service. Author and reviewer of medical assisting-related textbooks, she also serves as a consultant and expert witness for medical malpractice litigation.
Honors include being named UNT’s Doctoral Student of the Year in 2005; being on the Innovator of the Year team at El Centro College, 2000; and being named to Who’s Who Among American Educators, 2004 and 2005, among many other honors. Current professional memberships include the Texas Community College Teachers Association, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the Texas Society of Medical Assistants and the Dallas Chapter of Medical Assistants.
